We met Dr. Mousavi at Kindred hospital. My mother was terminal and he was the doctor on duty who was with us as she passed. Most did not know at the time, but my Dad was suffering from ESLD. Dr. Mousavi recognized his symptoms, and although we already had a doctor, asked to come see him. He had the unfortunate task of telling us what we already knew, he needed a new liver, and he needed it immediately.
Although our current doctor had made the same diagnosis, we had not been educated on how to begin the process. At Dr. Mousavi’s recommendation I started calling hospitals with liver donor programs. I also checked our insurance, and we began getting all of my dad’s finances in order. We did all this while planning my Mother’s funeral. The Doctor stayed in touch the whole time, guiding with questions to ask, and answering the scary questions I was forced to ask based on his disease’s progression.
Last week UCSD called to have us come in for a preliminary interview, and yesterday they admitted him for testing. Today we found out we’re being placed on the donor list for immediate consideration. Dr. Mousavi saved this family. No matter what happens from here, we’re moving forward because of his perception, kindness, and expertise. To a family that was not even his patient. I trust him fully. Anyone lucky enough to know him personally, professionally or medically is truly blessed.

As a physician myself, it was of the utmost importance to me to choose a physician that truly cares about their patients. I met various hair restoration physicians, but Dr. Mousavi was the only physician whose care model exceeded my high expectations.
He took the extra time to answer ALL my 100s of questions with extreme patience, met me several times before the procedure IN PERSON (weekends or weekdays) to quell my worries, and even put me in touch with previous patients to gain their perspective on pre-procedure/peri-procedure workflow and recovery time. Providers who are insecure of their practices and results would not do such a thing. I did not feel judged or insecure with him. He and his stellar staff exemplified a health care team that was in it for the patients and took pride in their patients as well.
He differs from other hair restoration providers as he truly understands the science and physiology. Hair transplant is not the end all be all. Medical management and close follow-up are also equally as, if not more so, important. Thus, it is crucial to have close follow up after the procedure as the recovery and post-operative care dictates the long term results.
He made the recovery process is easy by always being available with new questions that arose, and answering each one with thoughtfulness and patience. I was worried about the recovery process but their technical expertise in combination with the close follow up made the recovery go extremely smooth.
Pick a physician that actually cares about you and your results. Not someone that meets you the day of the procedure, does your hair, takes your money, and it’s goodbye forever. Pick someone who is a clinician rather than just a technician, someone who understands the science and counseling necessary for patients to have optimal results and feel safe. Dr. Mousavi and his stellar staff strike all three components that exemplify this continuous model of care that I am referring to: Availability, Affability, and Ability.

If you’re looking to take control of your health, start here! The only way to really know what’s going on with your body is to get your labs done and speak to a professional. You could have imbalances in your body that you never knew existed!
After meeting with Dr. Mousavi I was blown away with his extensive knowledge on how the human body operates. It’s relieving to know he makes precise recommendations based on the individual and their labs and not just a one size fits all approach.

Just met with Dr Ben Mousavi and let me start by saying what a great doctor.
He was very straight forward. Unlike most other doctors they’re just prescription happy.
He suggest we do blood work first to make sure there are no underline issues. Then we can come up with a game plan for the next step. He was very attentive to my needs and questions.
Can’t wait to see what this journey brings. Stay tuned…

He will actually spend time with you on your first appointment and really seems to care about your health and not just as a hair replacement client, but a person who might have underlying issues and wants to get to the bottom of what’s causing not just your hair loss, but other issues as well.
I wish my primary Dr was the same way! Steve is really helpful too and Dr Ben’s nurse Galina is outstanding. I’m looking forward to actually seeing what’s actually wrong with my health and ready to fix it with their help. Can’t say enough..

Had a consultation and was extremely impressed with the staff and Doctor Mousavi.
When speaking about my concerns, Doctor Mousavi was extremely personable and gave in depth explanations on the different treatments and routes we could go. His jokes are also pretty good.
